Call for Proposals: Indigenous Peoples’ and Communities’ Pavilion at COP22

The Indigenous Peoples’ & Communities’ Pavilion: Traditional Knowledge for Climate Action will be organized at the next UN Climate Conference (UNFCCC COP 22) in Marrakech, Morocco, from 7-18 November 2016, thanks to the support of Norway’s Ministry of Climate and Environment.

 The Indigenous Peoples’ & Communities’ Pavilion will be an event and meeting space to facilitate the effective representation of indigenous peoples and communities at COP 22 and raise visibility of their issues in the climate context. In particular, the Pavilion will focus on the contribution of indigenous and traditional knowledge, technologies, and management practices to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Proposals to the programming of this space are open to indigenous peoples, communities and partners (CSOs, NGOs, governments, multilaterals, etc.) from around the world to promote and exchange indigenous, local and traditional knowledge and management practices for climate change mitigation and adaptation among themselves and with the media and the general public. There will also be an exhibition space for indigenous peoples and communities to showcase cultural practices, traditional knowledge, management practices and action against climate change.
