Call for project concepts within the framework of the Small Grants Programme of the Global Environment Facility.

The Global Environment Facility (GEF), established in 1991, is an independent financial mechanism what providing grants to developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The funds are used for projects that have a positive impact on the global environment in the following areas: biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, protection of the ozone layer, and persistent organic pollutants.

These projects align process solutions to local, national and global environmental issues and, at the same time, contribute to the formation of stable income sources of population.

Small Grants Programme (SGP) was established in 1992 and contributes to the solution of global environmental issues by supporting local initiatives undertaken by non-governmental and community-based organizations. SGP - it is a corporate program GEF, implemented by UNDP and executed by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Non-governmental organizations registered in the Republic of Moldova, can provide projects concepts in accordance with the National Strategy for the Small Grants Program for the fifth phase and with the instructions for applicants.

The deadline for submission of project concepts until April 30, 2013, till 18.00.
